The Darkness II is a video game being developed y Digital Extremes and will be published by 2K Games and written by Paul Jenkins. It is sequel to 2007's The Darkness. It was previously scheduled to be released on 10 July, 2011 then on 4 October, 2011. It was postponed for both dates and instead will be released February 7, 2012 in North America and February 10, 2012 in Europe. It is being developed for for the three bets platforms as Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows (PC) and PlayStation 3.

The previous version of Darkness 2 was not released for Microsoft Windows. In the Darkness 2, you will be playing missions such as those commonly found incidentally in a linear shooter games as well as demonic shopped missions completed. Therefore, The Darkness 2 will definitely be welcomed by all PC gamers.

Battle field is one of my favorite games and i can't wait for it to come out.

There are a lot of improvements made in this game so I am expecting that Fifa 2012 will be much better than the PES 2012.There are many people who believe that PES is better than fifa. No doubt. Graphics of PES are better than Fifa but game play of PES is really bad. The next installment of Fifa will mark the 19th year of this billion dollar franchise.

F.E.A.R. 3 continues the complex storyline tying together the psychically dangerous mother Alma Wade with her two sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel, as well as the F.E.A.R. operations team. You can play with both the characters in the game. Each character has unique abilities and powers and you can utilize them in a dark adventure that will test the player's loyalties, battle skills and sense of duty.

The people who didn't play the previous batman game should play Batman Arkham City because a lot of improvements are made in this game.

Arkham City is lot better than Arkham Asylum in many aspects as Arkham City is a huge place, five times the size of Arkham Asylum. Batman Arkham City is a game that pretty much everyone is excitedly waiting for.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is an action role-playing game. It is published by Square Enix and developed by Eidos Montreal. It is the third game in the Deus Ex series, and a prequel to the original game released in 2000. It is set to be released on 26 August 2011. The first two games were not according to the expectations but Deus Ex Human Revolution looks promising.

It is a stealth action video game that takes place in a near future dystopia. You will find yourself traveling around grittily-realized city streets and infiltrating heavily guarded fortifications.

Dead Space 2

Dead Space 2 is a third-person shooter video game. It is developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (PS3). It is the sequel to Dead Space which was released on October 13, 2008. Unlike Dead Space, Dead Space 2 has a multiplayer mode.

Dead Space 2 is challenging and unforgiving to play, which is just how games such as this should be.

Taking a leaf from the film industry's reworking of the Batman and Star Trek, Crystal Dynamics has decided to 'Reboot' the Tomb Raider series. Few months ago i saw the trailer of this game and It looks stunning. Graphics are very high as compared to previous Tomb Raider games. Fans of Tomb Raider have high hopes for this game. This game has been in development for a couple of years. If this proves a major success though, then expect reboots of every game that ever had cinematic pretensions. The game will be released around 2012.

Sopa and Pipa votes shelved after Congress climbs down on piracy bills

In a dramatic display of the power of online protest, a congressional vote on the anti-piracy bills Pipa and Sopa have been shelved after some of the internet's main players demanded a legislative rethink.
Just two days after chunks of the internet went dark in opposition to proposals that critics claim will hamper the flow of online information, Senate majority leader Harry Reid announced the postponement of a planned ballot on Pipa, also known as the Protect IP Act.
Lamar Smith, the Republican chairman of the House Judiciary committee, followed suit, saying his panel would delay action on similar legislation called the Stop Online Piracy Act, or Sopa, until there is wider agreement on the legislation.
The decision to postpone the votes was made in light of "recent events", Reid said – taken to be a reference to Wednesday's day of action in which Wikipedia led the way with a 24-hour blackout.
"It is clear that we need to revisit the approach on how best to address the problem of foreign thieves that steal and sell American inventions and products," Smith said in a statement.
The online demonstration, which was aimed at Pipa and Sopa led to a drop-off in support for the proposed legislation.
During the CNN primary debate in South Carolina on Thursday, the four remaining Republican candidates vying for the White House nod came out against the Sopa.
GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney said the law was "far too intrusive" and could hamper job creation and would harm the economy.
His main rival, former House speaker Newt Gingrich, said existing laws were sufficient to allow an aggrieved copyright holder to sue, while libertarian Ron Paul said the bill threatened freedom.
The Obama administration had earlier indicated that it was not happy with the bills in their present forms.
In a post on the We the People petition website, the White House told those opposed to the bills that it would not support legislation that "reduces freedom of expression, increases cybersecurity risk or undermines the dynamic, innovative global internet."
In a statement, Reid announced that the planned vote in the Senate on Tuesday would now be postponed, but not killed off entirely.
"There is no reason that the legitimate issues raised by many about this bill cannot be resolved," he said, in a nod to Wednesday's unprecedented online action.
Reid urged the authors of the bill to engage with the online community in redrafting the proposed act, so that it forged a "balance between protecting Americans' intellectual property, and maintaining openness and innovation on the internet".
The development will be seen as a slap in the face to movie, music and television producers who until recently had enjoyed broad support for both anti-privacy bills in Congress.
Sue Gardner, executive director of the Wikimedia Foundation, said:

"The Wikimedia Foundation welcomes these developments. This is another step towards the ultimate destruction of these two pieces of proposed legislation. But let's be clear, these bills are not dead. They will return, and when they do, they must not harm the interests of the hundreds of millions of people who contribute to the free and open internet.
"The blackout was led by millions of ordinary internet users, and the people who make projects like Wikipedia possible - writers, photographers, editors and illustrators. They sent a clear message to Congress: don't mess with free expression, don't destroy the free and open Internet, don't do the bidding of traditional corporate interests. This is a moment in history when the people who create and share works on the internet as part of the free knowledge movement, and the people who depend on access to those works, are asking to be heard and to have their freedom of speech protected."

Firms taking part in Wednesday's online protest included Google and Reddit.
They joined Wikipedia in a show of strength against the two bills, which appears to be paying dividends in Washington.

Gates Ungkap Obrolan Terakhir dengan Jobs

Bill Gates dan Steve Jobs memang dikenal sebagai dua individu yang menjadi ikon industri teknologi. Walaupun dikenal sebagai rival di industri komputer, yang ditandai persaingan Mac dengan Windows, tapi Bill Gates juga dikenal bersahabat dengan Steve Jobs.

Dalam buku biografi "Steve Jobs" yang ditulis Walter Issacson, Bill Gates disebut mengunjungi rumah Steve Jobs. Keduanya pun kemudian terlibat pembicaraan yang dalam mengenai kehidupan, pekerjaan, dan keluarga, beberapa minggu sebelum Jobs meninggal.

Tapi apa yang sebenarnya mereka bicarakan? 

Dalam sebuah wawancara kepada ABC News dan Yahoo News, Gates pun mengungkapkan pembicaraan dua jenius dari Silicon Valley ini.

Menurut Gates, mereka berdua sangat senang mengobrol, dengan Jobs terkadang melemparkan topik yang sangat menstimulasi hingga obrolan menjadi panjang.

"(Saat itu) kami bicara tentang keluarga kami, dan betapa beruntungnya kami, dalam arti bersama perempuan yang kami nikahi. Itu merupakan pembicaraan santai yang sangat hebat," kenang Bill Gates.

Gates pun mengakui kematian Jobs sangat berdampak kepadanya. "Sangat aneh memiliki seseorang yang sangat berpengaruh dan membuat perubahan besar, dan telah.. sangat terasa kehadirannya, dan kemudian mendapatkannya telah tiada," tutur mantan orang terkaya di dunia ini.

"Ini pasti akan membuat Anda berpikir, 'Wow, kita memang semakin tua.'," ucap Gates. "Ini membuat saya ingat untuk terus melakukan hal penting, karena kita memiliki waktu yang terbatas."

Hubungan Gates dan Steve Jobs memang naik-turun. Dalam biografi "Steve Jobs", keduanya bahkan pernah bertengkar hebat saat Jobs menuduh Gates meniru Apple saat membuat Windows.

Saat itu, Bill Gates pun menjawab tuduhan Steve Jobs dengan santai.

"Begini, Steve. Saya pikir ini seperti kita punya tetangga kaya yang bernama Xerox. Saya berusaha menyusup masuk ke dalam rumahnya untuk mencuri TV, tapi saat saya ada di dalam saya baru tahu kalau kamu sudah mencuri TV itu," ujar Bill Gates kepada Steve Jobs.

Industri Internet Khawatir Kena Dampak IM2

IM2 merupakan pihak penyelenggara jasa telekomunikasi yang tidak ikut tender.

 

 

Sejumlah pengurus Asosiasi Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) mempertanyakan kasus hukum yang menjadikan Direktur Utama PT Indosat Mega Media (IM2) sebagai tersangka penyalahgunaan jaringan frekuensi generasi ketiga (3G). Indosat dinilai tidak melanggar peraturan soal frekuensi, karena IM2 merupakan kategori penyelenggara jasa telekomunikasi yang tidak ikut tender spektrum frekuensi.

Mengapa Asosiasi terkesan khawatir dengan kasus hukum yang menimpa bos IM2?

"Jika kerjasama antara penyelenggara jaringan dan jasa telekomunikasi mengalami masalah, dampaknya ke bawah. 20 ribu warnet kena," ujar Rusdi Rusdiah, salah satu pengurus APW KOMITEL, 24 Januari 2011.

Rusdi berpendapat, kekhawatiran ini disebabkan warnet termasuk pihak yang menyewa jaringan telekomunikasi.

Selain itu, jika IM2 dianggap melanggar peraturan soal frekuensi juga akan berdampak pada investasi dari luar negeri. Karena dampaknya juga akan menimpa industri hardware.

"Saat ini tidak lagi bisa dipisahkan, hardware tanpa koneksi mengganggu pertumbuhan IT," tambah pengurus APKOMINDO, Suhanda Wijaya.

Ini berarti kerjasama tersebut juga akan berdampak terhadap 280 ISP (Internet Service Provider) yang juga termasuk penyelenggara jasa telekomunikasi.

Jika analogi kerjasama dengan Indosat diberlakukan, dikhawatirkan akan menyebabkan industri internet di Indonesia juga akan mati. Karena perbankan, pendidikan juga menyewa jaringan telekomunikasi.

"Jika ini kemudian jadi yurisprudensi untuk kerjasma sejenis, indutri internet akan mati," jelas Sekjend Mastel, Maswigrantoro.
Untuk itu, Asosiasi TIK Pusat berharap hubungan kerjasama antara penyelenggara jaringan dan jasa telekomunikasi jangan sampai menghancurkan industri internet di Indonesia.

XL Blaast Gaet 1.000 Pengembang Lokal

Sebanyak 95 persen aplikasi di XL Blaast merupakan produk lokal.

Produk aplikasi yang membanjiri perangkat di Indonesia saat ini masih didominasi oleh aplikasi dari luar negeri. Padahal, aplikasi lokal tidak kalah kualitas dengan aplikasi luar negeri. Terlebih, aplikasi konten kini sangat mendukung untuk perkembangan industri.

Untuk itu, melalui XL Blaast, pihak PT XL Axiata Tbk menggandeng pengembang konten lokal yang menghiasi aplikasi di XL Blaast. Sebanyak 95 persen aplikasi di dalamnya merupakan produk lokal.

Pihak XL juga mengklaim telah menggandeng 1.000 pengembang aplikasi lokal sejak empat bulan lalu. Blaast juga memberi dukungan 500 perangkat.

XL menyebut upaya itu sebagai wujud komitmennya dalam mengembangkan konten lokal agar mampu bersaing dengan konten luar. "Visi XL Blaast bagaimana aplikasi lokal bisa mendunia. Jangan sampai kita terkena tsunami aplikasi luar terus," tambah Dian Siswarini, Director of Technology, Content and New Business XL Axiata.

Komitmen lain yakni pengembang aplikasi lokal akan mendapatkan pembagian keuntungan dari tiap aplikasi yang dihasilkan. Seperti apa di pengembang lokal tersebut akan dikembangkan, Dian mengatakan belum bisa bicara banyak. "Yang penting bagaimana konten agar bangkit lagi. Karena kita kan masih takut ya jika dengar konten," tuturnya.

Sisi bisnis dari konten dalam XL Blaast, dia melanjutkan, juga disebut akan menjadi bagian dari jangka panjangnya.

"Industri tumbuh karena tumbuhnya layanan data dan konten aplikasi, ini ukurannya," tutur Dian. Program aplikasi dalam XL Blaast juga bagian dari kompensasi atas turunnya layanan vioce dan SMS

Kindle Fire akan dikirim ke berbagai negara mulai 15 November 2011 dan diprediksi sanggup mengalahkan iPad dari segi angka penjualan dan popularitas, karena kalau berdasarkan spec nya jelas sangat jauh berbeda.

Tablet  vs Laptop

Ada yang menyebut sekarang adalah masa "post-PC", artinya kita tidak lagi berinteraksi terpaku di depan sebuah monitor dan CPU terpisah, melainkan menjinjing laptop. Tapi, ibarat seumur jagung, booming laptop agaknya mulai beralih dengan munculnya Tablet PC. Akankah laptop begitu saja terpinggirkan oleh kehadiran device yang lebih praktis dan multifungsi? Hasil riset International Data Group memproyeksikan penjualan laptop tahun 2012 masih akan stabil, bahkan mengalami kenaikan tipis sekitar 11%.

Keyboard vs Voice Controls

Hampir 150 tahun yang lalu, dunia modern mengenal mesin ketik. Di era komputerisasi, perannya praktis tergantikan oleh keyboard sebagai input device ke PC. Spotify vs  iTunes

Musik bagian dari hidup. Apple iTunes telah merevolusi industri musik di tahun 2003 dengan menyediakan lagu-lagu yang bisa didownload dengan harga relatif murah.

Oke, di internet kita memang bisa mencari dan mendownload lagu-lagu yang diinginkan (via mediashare etc). Di tengah hilir-mudiknya hits single terbaru, Spotify (dan sejumlah portal layanan music subscription) mulai "merongrong" kedudukan iTunes dengan memberi akses ke "gudang" atau perpustakaan lagu, yang tidak perlu dibeli atau dimiliki, karena pengguna cuma butuh koneksi untuk streaming. Jadi, konsepnya mungkin lebih memudahkan kedua pihak; antara pengguna yang ingin mendengarkan lagu tersebut dan penyedia layanan memberikan akses, sekaligus meraih user tentunya.

Spotify mengklaim saat ini telah diakses lebih dari 10 juta ID user aktif, dimana 2 juta ID di antaranya memilih opsi berlangganan. Dari layanan subscribe (berlangganan) inilah Spotify berharap terus mengalirkan pundi-pundi dollar. Musik untuk semua?? Yes!

BlackBerry vs iOS, Android, dan Windows Phone 7

Di awal 2010, RIM BlackBerry  menjadi smartphone paling populer di kawasan Amerika Utara (NA). Tapi belakangan ini, RIM seakan tak kuasa menghadapi besarnya "bayang-bayang" berbagai operating system lain di platform mobile : iOS (Apple), Android  dan yang teranyar Windows 7. RIM lantas berbenah dan langsung bermanuver dengan meng-uprgade operating system menjadi BBXOS.

Pada acara tahunan Blackberry di bulan Oktober lalu, para engineer RIM membocorkan kemungkinan penggunaan Android pada smartphone mereka. RIM yang berjaya sebagai perintis smartphone kini dalam posisi terjepit oleh 3 OS lainnya. Belum lagi jika di tahun 2014 nanti, Linux siap terjun meramaikan pasar smartphone. 

Flash vs HTML 5

Adobe Flash sebagai platform pemutar video di internet tampaknya tak lama lagi bakal tergantikan HTML 5. Dan siapakah yang dengan "jumawa" memulai revolusi ini? Yeap! Apple mensterilkan fitur flash dari setiap produk device iOS. Langkah serupa juga diikuti Microsoft, yang meniadakan Flash plug-ins pada browser seri terbaru mereka IE 10, yang disediakan untuk Windows 8.

HDD vs SSD

Solid-state drives (SSDs) semakin jadi pilihan kebutuhan penyimpanan data (storage) di mobile device, juga laptop. Ukurannya yang mini dengan kapasitas luar biasa, membuat seri Intel Ultrabook dan Apple MacBook Air terlihat ramping. Sistem booting SSD berjalan cepat karena tidak mempengaruhi komponen moving parts, yang diyakini membuatnya lebih tangguh dibanding HDD.

Flickr  vs Instagram

Berapa banyak di antara kalian yang sudah mengunggah (upload) foto melalui Flickr? Situs ini cukup ramah bagi para user dan jaringannya pun didukung sistem yang komprehensif hingga tak heran jumlah usernya sudah mencapai 51 juta akun ID. Di sisi lain, para pengguna iPhone baru saja "berbulan madu" dengan kamera ciamik pada iPhone4 yang dilengkapi fitur share melalui app Instagram.

Sebagai perbandingan, Instagram meraih 9 juta user dalam waktu sepuluh bulan (dan lebih dari 150 juta foto terupload), sementara Flickr selama 2 tahun baru membagikan 100 juta file foto. Bukan hanya itu, pengelola Flickr tambah harap-harap cemas karena situs indk mereka, Yahoo, juga hendak bersinergi untuk meluncurkan app berbasis Android untuk menyaingi Instagram.

Facebook vs Google+

Friendster sebagai pionir jejaring sosial bermetamorfosis menjadi portal game, sedangkan "sang penerus" Facebook justru menjadi platform bagi game-game browser. Di sinilah persimpangan itu. Tak ada hujan, tak ada badai, tiba-tiba Google berinisiatif menciptakan platform jejaring sosial bernama Google+. Lawan yang cukup tangguh bagi Facebook, mengingat kapasitas user yang sudah menggunakan berbagai aplikasi Google bisa sangat diperhitungkan.

Mampukah Google+ menggoyahkan kemapanan Facebook (?) yang menyentuh angka 800 juta user di seluruh dunia (dengan jumlah terbesar di negara-negara maju seperti AS, Inggris dan Eropa)?

Google jelas pantang mundur. Dan 40 juta akun user kini bisa saling berbagi dengan fitur-fitur khas dan semakin "personal" untuk menularkan "plus" satu sama lain. Hei, mengapa keduanya tidak bergabung saja menjadi Facebook (+) plus ??

Mobile Web vs Traditional Web

Lagi-lagi hasil riset IDC (Internet Data Centre) jadi acuan dengan memproyeksikan bahwa di tahun 2015 mendatang mayoritas warga AS akan mengakses internet via mobile device ketimbang PC.

Yup! Lupakan monitor, mouse,keybord dan CPU. Di masa depan, performa smartphone (dan tentunya juga Tablet) akan semakin ideal mengakselerasikan content website dari internet.

Pemakaian internet bukan lagi sekadar gaya hidup, melainkan kebutuhan yang menyatu dalam ritme aktivitas.Ketersediaan mobile device secara massal (dan harga yang relatif kian terjangkau) akan mengubah pola dan gaya hidup kita.
